We also specialize in luxury charter air travel and can arrange private charters to and from East Africa in 12-seater Falcon jets or similar.
Airline Options:
We recommend you fly with KLM from Amsterdam to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Be aware that the cheapest fares sell out early. These flights depart Amsterdam in the late morning and arrive in Kilimanjaro at 9:30pm.
Another option is to fly to Nairobi International in Kenya, and take the connecting 45-minute shuttle flight to Kilimanjaro. It is cheaper and easier to book all the flights as part of your international itinerary. The flight to Kilimanjaro from Nairobi costs about $225 one way. See the Nairobi Airport map.
- You can also fly from Nairobi Wilson Airport with Air Kenya and Safarilink but you will need a 45-minute road transfer so do this only in a crunch.
- Flights from Nairobi International are operated by: Kenya Air, Precision Air, Fly540
If you want to save money, you can take one of two shuttles from Nairobi to the Kilimanjaro area. These buses take about 5-6 hours and costs about $30. It is a long and hot ride and always crowded but you "may" actually enjoy the experience! Please book this yourself! We do not recommend this.
- Impala Shuttle
- Riverside Shuttle
If you arrive in Nairobi too late to catch the 6pm flight, we strongly suggest you stay in Nairobi instead of trying to catch one of the few evening flights to Kilimanjaro. For safety reasons we do NOT transfer clients after 10pm in Tanzania.
In Nairobi, we book only the Ole-Sereni Hotel or Panari Hotel for overnights because they are nearest to the airport (15 minutes). Double rooms are about $280 and transfers about $50 per vehicle each way. If you take one of the shuttles above, the hotel can help arrange a ride to the meeting points.
