Tortilis Tented Camp
Tortilis Camp is an exclusive luxury
tented camp with only 17 large tents, all with en-suite facilities.
Each tent leads from a bedroom with expansive king-size or generous
twin beds, through a dressing area into modern bathrooms with
pressured hot showers and flush toilets.
Each tent is raised up on a wooden deck and sheltered by a makuti
(thatched) roof overhanging a large verandah, ideal for an afternoon
siesta unless you prefer the pool.

Mara Bateleur Camp
Situated below the location where Out
of Africa’s famous final scene was filmed, this romantic and totally
private camp reflects the ambience of Kenyan safaris of the 20s and
30s.
A member of Small Luxury Hotels of the
World, it consists of two intimate camps with nine tented suites each,
expansive en suite bathrooms, ceiling fans and private butler service.
Nestled in a lush riverine forest, the
tented suites epitomize classic elegance with polished wooden floors
and en suite bathrooms with glass-walled showers, twin hand-basins and
a separate flush toilet. Each tent has a private deck overlooking the
vast game-filled plains of the Masai Mara, and a personal butler will
ensure your every need is catered for.
Beautiful antiques adorn the comfortable sitting area and
indoor/outdoor dining area, transporting you to the heyday of classic
safaris. The camp also features a deep lap pool and a small African
gift shop. Your private butler will serve you delicious Pan-African
cuisine in the dining area, on the veranda or in a romantic setting
under the stars. Bush breakfasts and candlelit dinners offer an
unforgettable experience of the African bush. |

CCAfrica Crater Lodge Inspired in design by the Maasai
mud-and-stick manyatta (homestead), Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is without
doubt one of the most architecturally spectacular safari lodges in
Africa.
It comprises three separate and
intimate camps – North Camp (12 suites), South Camp (12 suites) and
Tree Camp (6 suites) – each offering breathtaking views of the Crater
below. Each suite has a private deck, fireplace, en suite bathroom and
exclusive butler service.
Steeped in romance, each mud and thatch
suite is reminiscent of a bygone era, with the stilted, handcrafted
structures adorned in graceful antiques, grand chandeliers and African
treasures. The bedroom, sitting room and en suite bathroom boast
floor-to-ceiling glass windows, overlooking the magnificent Crater
below. Your personal butler will discreetly tend to your every need,
bringing you tea in bed, stoking your fireplace and drawing your bath. |

CCAfrica Grumeti River Camp
Situated in a remote valley in the
western corridor of the Serengeti National Park, just 50 kilometres
(31 miles) east of Lake Victoria – Africa’s largest lake. Flanked by
two hillsides, this flamboyant camp overlooks a bywater of the Grumeti
River and offers a comfortable haven from which to experience the
truly wild pulse of Africa.
Every year during Africa’s annual Great Migration, hundreds of
thousands of wildebeest, zebra and other herbivores cross the Grumeti
River, risking the jaws of some of the largest crocodiles on earth.
Large pods of hippo grunt from their watery hideaway below the camp
and black-and-white Colobus monkeys live in Grumeti’s bird-filled
riverine trees. At night, the nocturnal orchestra of owls and bush
babies is punctuated by the primeval sounds of lion and hyena.

Upgrade - Singita Sabora Plains Camp
Sabora offers guests the opportunity to
experience the elegant safari lifestyle of Hemingway, Blixen and
Roosevelt.
This lavish tented camp is located on the vast Sabora Plains with
spectacular views of the savannah. The spacious air conditioned tents,
with a lounge library, are gracefully decorated: rich fabrics,
glorious antiques, Persian rugs and campaign furniture come together
to recreate the style so familiar to those famous African adventurers.
Imagine dining beneath elegant awnings, your table set with crisp,
white Irish linen, the finest porcelain, crystal goblets and silver.
Beyond all this the plains extend their long grasses bending in the
wind, carrying the whispers of the many colorful characters, now sadly
gone, who loved this land with such passion. |

| Notes |
This group
safari is offered at a ridiculous price that cannot be explained in
any logical analysis. You are paying much more than rack rates at each
lodge and then some. If your
travel agent offers you the Grand Safari, please fire your agent
on the spot.
Please contact us if you want a further
explanation on why we crown this itinerary as the
worst-value-for-money safari in the world. Or look at our G2
upgrade to see true luxury at a reasonable price. |
Highlights:
1. Private tour in Nairobi
2. Private 4WD Landcruiser at Ol Pejeta
and
Ngorongoro!
3. On the Zanzibar extension we
upgraded the Serena Inn rooms to prime sea view, and we offer a
private 2-day tour instead of a group tour
4. Depart any time |
Highlights: 1. Private safari
for two
2. Two nights in Nairobi in the
luxurious Tree Houses at Ngong House
3. Three nights in the wonderful Masai
Mara.
4. Four nights in the most exclusive
lodges in East Africa - Singita Grumeti Reserves. There is no
comparison between Mount Kenya Safari Club and Grumeti Reserves!
|
Everything
considered, the Grand Safari is probably the worst value-for-money safari
out there - but if you like the itinerary, please consider our G1 and G2
safaris.
The Grand Safari is inflexible, it is expensive and for
most of the year the weekly departures visit the wrong parks at the
wrong times using the wrong lodges.
We will custom-design a safari
depending on your month of travel.
To see a few well-planned East Africa
itineraries, please select a month from the navigation-list on the
left.

Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Can I pay for the safaris with
a credit card? Yes, we gladly accept American Express, Mastercard,
Visa and Discover Card. The price we quote is the price you pay - cash or
credit!
2. Are there hidden costs? No! You
must pay for drinks and laundry in a few places as indicated, tips to driver/guides and
personal items. That's it!
3. How can this be? Saving $8570 per
person is simply unbelievable. Is there a catch? No, it is very simple
actually. The Kiliwarriors is a local outfitter in Tanzania. We do not own
fancy international offices, we do not print expensive brochures and we do
not advertise in glossy travel magazines. We do not outsource
this safari to a 3rd party safari outfitter in Tanzania. Therefore we have no
reason to add 150% profits to our safaris.
4. Do you include a tour
director that accompanies the safari? No, because there is no
need to! Big groups in tourist lodges and vehicle convoys require
coordination and management. You are not traveling in a group! Our
Operations Manager in Arusha personally monitors each safari and will
resolve issues if needed via phone. We use luxurious camps/lodges with
highly trained staff to handle emergencies. Your experienced driver/guides
have seen just about everything and are well equipped and trained to
assist with issues. And you have one less person to tip!
5. Do you offer trip insurance? Yes,
we partnered with the highly-respected Travelex insurance company.
We made the whole process very simple!

6. I enjoy the company of others. Group
tours are attractive to me because my husband will drive me crazy after 16
days. I like to meet people and make new friends. Will we enjoy your
private safari? Sharing a cramped safari vehicle with 4-6 others
can be tiring. This is an expensive safari that can be ruined by a single
obnoxious person. Why take the chance? The Kiliwarrior upgrade offers the
best of both worlds. You will meet different people every night in our
camps and lodges, and on the days with shared game drives. Our camps
attract clientele from around the world who knows how to travel well. Our
upgrade offers a good mix of private game drives and shared drives. On a
16-day safari, the luxury of having a private vehicle for a few days is
good therapy - and very convenient for pictures and filming!
A group on safari in the bush is different
from a group on a tour of Italy! The roads are bad, the vehicles are small
with no bathrooms (a real drag if one or more of 6 people have stomach
problems so common in Africa), it is hot with biting insects and each
individual wants to see different animals. If one person is an avid
photographer with huge zoom lenses, then matters can quickly escalate to
a really unhappy situation.
7. How about your guides? We
follow a different and much better approach to
guiding. With a few exceptions, you will be guided by guides who
are based at the camps! They live and work at the camps for many months
each year. They know the areas and the wildlife patterns in the vicinity
of their camps MUCH better than a guide based in Arusha or Nairobi who
drives in only occasionally! The upscale camps in our upgraded itinerary
train their guides very well - we could argue that the guides our camps
are some of the best trained in all of Kenya and Tanzania. Our clients
agree!
8. Do you offer a 4-day
Zanzibar extension at the luxurious Serena Inn with some day tours? Yes!
for about $300 pp
less than published rates! And we include an upgrade to prime sea view rooms and a private
2-day Zanzibar tour!
9. Do we have an opportunity to
contribute to a local charity? Yes! Thank you for your concern!

Maasai Joy Children's Center in
Arusha!
